Manhattan, LivingstonDr. Omar Mohamed, D.O., is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate primary care to adults throughout New York and New Jersey.
He earned his B.A. in Biology with a minor in Human Psychology from New York University, followed by his medical degree from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2023.
With experience in both outpatient primary care and hospital medicine, Dr. Mohamed brings a broad perspective to patient care. He focuses on prevention, early detection, chronic disease management, and addressing both medical and psychological health.
Dr. Mohamed is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and maintains active medical licenses in New York and New Jersey. He is committed to building long-term patient relationships based on trust, communication, and individualized care.
I chose Internal Medicine because I enjoy its diverse pathology and the opportunity to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions while caring for the whole patient
I was inspired by my interest in science and the human body and by the opportunity to use that knowledge to directly improve people’s lives.
I enjoy diagnosing and treating medical problems to help patients manage their health both during acute complaints and over the long term.
The most rewarding part is seeing patients improve and knowing that I helped them better understand and manage their health.
I particularly enjoy treating cardiovascular conditions and risk factors such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, heart failure, venous thromboembolism, and atrial fibrillation.
I frequently care for patients with hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD, and weight-management needs.
Patients can expect a thorough and welcoming evaluation focused on their medical history, current concerns, medications, lifestyle, and individual health goals.
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, going to the beach, swimming, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Hobbies and interests outside of medicine include swimming, playing basketball, traveling and exploring new places/cultures, watching nature documentaries, and gardening, particularly growing fruit.
